Impressive vintage still life oil on panel by Gaston Jones (Merksem, Belgium 1891-1960) depicting a colorful Chinese figurine facing a vase full of violet flowers in different colors on aquamarine surface having red drapes with  blue and black accents behind, signed at lower right corner, dated 1941. It has visible handwritten script at the back: Medaille D'or à l'Exposition de Bruxelles, 1955. Gaston Jones was a Belgian painter of landscapes, figures, portraits, interiors and still lifes who was part of the Brussels School. He studied at the "Institut des Arts Decoratifs" Elsene, Belgium. He was active painting the front lines during the WW1 and joined in his later years, the "Salon des Artistes Français" held in Paris, France. This artwork will be delivered in an original custom made frame with front glass protection, handmade in Belgium.  In very good condition with minor traces of age and wear. Kindly refer to the images as integral part of the descriptions.  I do my best to provide photos that honestly reflect the character of the piece.
