Stunning 19th century carved wood group with glass eyes of St. Joseph and Child. A detailed sculpture depicting  St. Joseph carrying Child Jesus that held a globe in the hand as Salvator Mundi, the saviour of the world,  made of fabric on wood polychrome with gold accents raised on a stepped plinth.  An impressive masterpiece of a craftsman with high technical and artistic skill applied through the facial expressions and the meticulous attention to every details. In very good condition with traces of wear such as missing parts and natural cracks on on wood,  polychrome loss in places and other details commensurate to age, with very charming aging patina.
