Stunning pair of gilt brass carriage lanterns featuring eagle finials positioned over cast drapery chimneys. Each lantern consists of five glass panels and one brass reflector panel, allowing for a beautiful dispersion of light. The black enameled cast iron twisted brackets and plates serve as wall mounts, providing sturdy support for the lanterns. These lanterns were used once with candles, then converted to electricity with E12 screw bulb fittings. This modification allows for more convenient and practical use in modern settings. Handcrafted in Belgium early 1900. Despite their age, the lanterns are in very good condition, with minor signs of wear such as light scratches and dents. Some areas may exhibit traces of verdigris, adding character and charm to the pieces. Overall, these lanterns showcase an artisan craftsmanship and possess a unique blend of antique and functional qualities. Kindly refer to the images as integral part of the description.
