Imposing large dog patinated plaster sculpture by H. Petrilly, French sculptor and animalier. The sculpture portrays a guard dog on alert, and it is quite impressive in size. It has lovely golden patina on the dog, giving it a rich and elegant appearance raised on a dark green rock shaped base. Titled "Alerte" par Petrilly on bronze cartouche and inscriptions J.B. Paris Déposé and model no. 2CO. Made in France circa 1930's. In very good condition with traces of wear, some patina loss, minor aging chips and other details consistent to age and artisan craftsmanship.
