An attractive Napoleon III pair of ormolu and metal fireplace andirons. Each fireplace chenet features a richly decorated urn with flame finial,  lion's head with lavish details, side gallery with architectural columns decorated with smaller urn and garlands. It has metal support on the back for stability and meant for holding the wood logs. A visible "V. C."  hallmark engraved at the back side of each andiron. Made in France around 1850's.  In very good condition with original gilding and traces of wear, tarnish and verdigris in places and other details consistent to age.
