Authentic top quality brass cannon shell wine bucket.  This heavy champagne bucket, vase features nicely shaped handles having fine sculpted heads of Bacchus, the God of Wine with vines and grapes around his head. Beautiful base with markings underneath that refers to an inert cannon shell of French Howitzer Canon de 155 C. Modele 1915 (155 C. Mle. 1915 S)  MGM. A7 L.17. R probably refers to the manufacturer of the shell and the year it was made, France circa 1917.  A war memorabilia in very good condition that has been cleaned and polished with traces of its historical wear and details consistent to its age.
