Gorgeous vintage pair of ceramic mermaid figurines. These lovely pieces features yellow long hair mermaids holding a drape and hand mirror like object, half naked with turquoise fish tail. It has a visible signature of Jo Maes (Belgium 1923- ) is a famous Belgian painter, practitioner of applied arts and interior decorator. He received his "Decorative Art" training at the Academy in Ghent during 1939-1946. He made large artistic wall ceramics at important art monuments in Belgium particularly in Ostend and Bredene. Made in Belgium late 1900. In very good condition with minor traces of wear, fine glaze chips and other details consistent to age. Kindly refer to pictures as integral part of the descriptions.
